Family Pizza Night Recipes

School is about to start and between the rush from study group to sports practice, music lessons, or whatever’s on your list – it can be hard to find family time. Take advantage of the last few weeks of summer by cooking together.

Making pizza is an easy way to get children involved and can be completely customizable depending on each family member’s unique tastes. Kids will love to give their input and cook up original ideas. Make mini pizzas with different toppings, or try some of the recipes below and let everyone sample a slice of each!

BBQ Chicken Pizza
Cheesy BLT Pizza
Chicken Ranch Pizza
Pizza Mexicana
Sirloin and Peach Pizza
Provolone, Prosciutto & Balsamic Onion Pizza
Double Crust Sausage and Cheese Pizza
Easy Deep-Dish Pizza
Grilled Sirloin Pizza

And for dessert, of course, a make-your-own sundae bar! Aside from the usual hot fudge and whipped cream – here are some original topping ideas. Most of these work best over traditional vanilla ice cream, so the flavors of the toppings and the ice cream itself don’t compete.

• A drizzle of maple syrup (heat it in the microwave first) or honey
• Crushed graham cracker pie crust, mini marshmallows, and chocolate syrup
• Diced canned pineapple and shredded, sweetened coconut
• Crushed Oreos
• Gummy fruit snacks with your child’s favorite characters
• Crushed pretzels mixed with a spoonful of peanut butter
• Fruity Pebbles over vanilla ice-cream
• Coarse sea salt (heaven over a dark chocolate ice cream – but only a dash!)
• Cinnamon or Nutmeg
• Fruit Jams
• Fluff and canned peaches for an ambrosia-like taste
• Brownie Pieces
• Movie theater candies, like junior mints or chocolate covered cookie dough bites

Happy cooking!
