Caraluzzi’s Markets to Consider New Location on Mill Plain Road, Danbury

DANBURY – Caraluzzi’s Markets is in negotiations for the purchase of a parcel of land at 102 Mill Plain Road in Danbury, resulting in a required public appeal to the City of Danbury’s Planning Commission for change in use on the property from retail to supermarket retail.

At this time, both negotiations and the appeal are considered to be exploratory. Should everything go according to plan, it is the intention to build a shopping center on the property anchored by a Caraluzzi’s Danbury Market and a Caraluzzi’s Wine and Spirit Super Store, bringing an estimated 160 new full and part-time jobs to the Danbury area. The shopping center could also include space for one or two smaller tenants. No potential construction or opening date has been determined.

As this is still in the early stages of evaluating the property, there is no significant progress to report at this time. Caraluzzi’s plans to issue another statement closer to the date of development, under the condition that the application is not denied or development halted by other unforeseen circumstances. As always, Caraluzzi’s wants to carefully consider each decision regarding any expansion plans, in order to provide the best experience possible for potential future customers and employees.
